Last October, at a summit in Kuala Lumpur, President Obama announced the creation of a committee to help support and develop the next generation of entrepreneurs; today, that initiative finally made its debut. Named the Presidential Ambassadors for Global Entrepreneurship (PAGE) and done in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development, members include top execs across the states and across industries, from LinkedIn’s Reid Hoffman to LearnVest’s Alexa von Tobel to Chobani’s Hamdi Ulukaya. Tory’s an inaugural member of PAGE, too, and today — headed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker — they gathered in Washington D.C. to discuss first steps in boosting the number of successful startups and how they can drive economic growth and job creation. “Our entrepreneurial spirit is also one of America’s greatest exports,” says Secretary Pritzker. “Through this group, we will take what we know about transforming innovative ideas into thriving companies and share that knowledge around the country and the world.”
