“I always look forward to having a full and busy house during the holidays. Just like our house in Valley Forge when I was growing up, there is always family, cousins (and second and third cousins), friends and streams of visitors stopping by. Because people will be in and out of the dining room, living room, library and kitchen, we keep bowls filled with my favorite spiced nuts on the side tables. I do low, often wide arrangements with seasonal flowers on the coffee table (and for brunch and dinner, too) so conversation can flow easily around them. And every year, I pull out books and magazines that remind me of holidays past, whether they were books my parents read to us as children or beautiful vintage magazines.” —Tory
