Visiting the Thai getaway of Phuket with the London-based sound designer and DJ,
here wearing the Kirsten tunic from Tory’s Tunic Collection with Saks Fifth Avenue

Phuket is like no other place because…
The exotic smell in the air takes you far away from the Western daily routine.

First-time visitors must visit…
Raya, the most incredible authentic Thai restaurant in Phuket Town.

Must-have packing essentials…
Forget high heels — focus on light summer dresses, shorts and sunscreen.

My Phuket uniform includes…
The ultimate elegant denim short — dark blue raw denim with a straight cut and low waist.

The best beach…
Railay Beach in Krabi. You need to go there by boat from Phuket. Stay there for a couple nights at Rayavadee Resort.

During the day, I will…
Do yoga, get hours of massages and think about my next meal.

And in the evening…
For a civilized cocktail and dinner, Amanpuri is still a lovely place. Or get down and dirty at a bar called Suzy Wong in Patong and walk around the area if you are looking for trouble.

My favorite local dish…
Stir-fried morning glory in garlic sauce at Twin Brothers on Surin Beach. And Raya’s crab curry.

And favorite local cocktail…
Fresh coconut juice everywhere you go… I don’t drink alcohol but those who would like to enjoy a delicious daiquiri with a fabulous view should go to Joe’s Downstairs.

Key phrases to know while in Phuket…
“Where are places tourists don’t go?” (Avoid tourists at all cost.) “How much? I only have half on me.” (Always bargain if you buy anything from the market apart from food.)

One secret only a local would know…
Forget expensive moisturizers. Buy local organic coconut oil for every inch of your body.
